Here are all of AndyWilkinson's jams.
by The Fall
For my 450th and final jam it could only be The Fall. This was the first thing I ever bought by them on a 12inch single. I've since amassed 42 albums on vinyl, twenty 12 inch singles, one 10 inch single, nine 7 inch singles, two albums on CD plus the 6 CD "complete Peel sessions Box set and a DVD. They really are the Best Band Ever. Thanks to everyone who's followed me and liked my Jams. It's been a blast.

by The Clash
My penultimate Jam is from my favourite album "London calling". My favourite track is always changing and I've jammed a few tracks from it before, so I've decided to go for this one.

by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds with Kylie Minogue
Had to jam some Nick Cave - another favourite artist- but so many songs to choose from. Thought I'd go with the song that really got me into him. Only seen him live once, but that was at Koko, where it was being filmed as part of his 20,000 Days on Earth film. Who should make a cameo appearance, but Kylie. That's where the photo is from.

by The White Stripes
Back in 2001 having not heard anything by them, but liking what I'd read, I decided to take a punt on an album called "White Blood Cells" by a band called The White Stripes. It turned out that they were pretty good. Never got to see them live. Had tickets once, but it was cancelled when Meg fell ill.

by PJ Harvey
Some people claim PJ Harvey is one of the greatest female artists of this generation. I would go further and say she is one of the greatest artists of all time irrespective of gender. Could have chosen any track from any of her albums. She keeps getting better and I am really looking forward to some new material.

by Talking Heads
Was privileged to see Talking Heads at the old Wembley Arena (not the stadium) back in 1982. Not my favourite venue, but as I was in the 3rd row it was pretty amazing. With Tom Tom Club supporting this was one of my best gigs ever.

by Sonic Youth
Back in 2000 I was at Butlins in Minehead for the first All Tomorrows Parties Festival. It had been a great weekend and I was really looking forward to seeing one of my favourite bands Sonic Youth for the first time as they were headlining the Sunday night. What a disappointment they were. Thankfully I saw them a couple more times when they were excellent.
Jammed: 13th Sep 2015
Couldn't leave TiMJ without posting some XTC. Trouble is there are so many great songs to choose from, so I've decided to plump for the first record of theirs that I got - a 7 inch single that I believ was a Christmas Present.

by Laura Marling
In to London this evening to see the wonderful Laura Marling. Her "Short Movie" album is probably my album of the year so far. Her show in Cambridge earlier this year was the best thing I have seen all year.

by The Midnight Barbers
Off to a beer festival in Chelmsford where this mighty fine two piece will be playing. They've been getting a little bit of recognition including a couple of mentions in NME and have just finished doing some recording at Abbey Road. Seen them a few times live and they are excellent.
Jammed: 3rd Sep 2015
One of my favourite albums from the last 10 years is Midlake's "The Trials of Van Occupanther". This was the first track I heard by them when it appeared on an Uncut CD. I fell in love with it instantly and bought the album, which contains loads of other great songs.
Jammed: 1st Sep 2015
by The Nightingales
Off to see The Nightingales in Southend on Friday. This is their fine cover of TLC's "Unpretty". If you like what you hear go to http://thenightingales.bandcamp.com/ where you can download this and some other excellent covers for free.

by The Stranglers
One of my favourite bands growing up was the Stranglers. I remember as a 12 year old getting this album for Christmas. During Christmas dinner my family said why don't you put your new LP on, but knowing the dodgy content of some of the lyrics I tried to persuade them that my brother's Eric Clapton album might be more suitable.

by The Jesus and Mary Chain
For my 21st Birthday, friends from work bought me "Psychocandy" (along with PiL's "Album"). The next day having slightly overdone it the night before, I listened to it for the first time on headphones with a raging hangover. Might not have been the best introduction to it, but it remains one of my favourite albums.
Jammed: 24th Aug 2015
Seeing people around Chelmsford getting ready for this weekend's V Festival makes me yearn for the days when it was a really good festival. The first one in '96 had a line up that included Super Furry Animals, Supergrass, Stereolab, Gorky'sZygotic Mynci and headlined by the mighty Pulp.

by The Jam
Off to Somerset House tomorrow to see The Jam's "About the Young Idea" Exhibition. Remember as a 12 year old buying this single (and at the same time "Something Better Change" by the Stranglers) at Chelmsford Market. These were my first Punk (ish) singles and marked a big change in my taste in music.

by Cocteau Twins
Wonderful music from Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde and the exquisite voice of Elizabeth Fraser - my favourite female singer. Saw them in Chelmsford once and unfortunately they were very disappointing as Liz couldn't get her voice going. Luckily gave them another chance and second time live they were wonderful.
Jammed: 18th Aug 2015
Back in 1985, a couple of workmates talked me in to going to a gig at the Hammersmith Palais to see a band who I'd not really heard of called R.E.M. I bought this single on 12 inch the first of many R.E.M records I bought. And the gig was one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
Jammed: 17th Aug 2015
by The Wedding Present
One of my favourite songs from another favourite band. Served David Gedge when I worked in a Bank in Oxford St and said I was a big fan. Next thing I know he said he'd put me and a friend on the guest list for the following night's show. It was a great gig and as an added bonus, the support act was My Bloody Valentine.
Jammed: 16th Aug 2015
by The Coal Porters
Sid Griffin's band the Coal Porters cover Sid Griffin's old band the Long Ryders. Might pop along to see them at a free festival in Leigh on Sea tomorrow. A very entertaining live band.
