Here are all of Astromonkey's jams.
ABBA Greatest Hits (the one with them on the park bench on the cover) was my first album, as it was of many thousands of kids who grew up in the 70's I suspect. My friend Vincent and I would stroll the school playground arm in arm singing ABBA songs. I wanted to be Agnetha, naturally. When my parents were at work on a Saturday morning I would put on my Mums fake fur coat and her long high-heeled boots and sing along to the Arrival album....#firstrecords #lastjams

So for my 8th Birthday I was allowed a party and I could choose two new singles for it - one I chose was by a certain disgraced sparkly pervert, the other was this fun and rather camp disco delight...#firstrecords #lastjams #disco #allthesignswerethere

Another record I asked my Mum to get for me. I'm sure it's been jammed loads but it's a classic. It was always Ron that stole the show for me with his weird looks to camera and 'tache. #firstrecords #lastjams

So for the last few days of TIMJ I'm doing my #desertislanddiscs. I couldn't go without something by Lene - she does a stonking live version of this which is always a highlight when I see her. "Too many useless martyrs, suffer in vain, too many greedy brothers, cheating the game..."

Seriously NSFW! Karen Finley was/is a New York based performance artist. She made a few singles and an album in the late 80's which were based on her performance pieces of grotesquely sexual monologues. This track is from her album "The Truth Is Hard To Swallow". She was sampled a lot - it's her on S'Express saying "Drop that Ghettoblaster!" #filthyfriday

I love the original Frankie Valli version of this track, and Soft Cell's was good too, but Lene's is my favourite, changing "he" to "they" in the lyrics infers the subject is in danger of being trapped by some sinister cult rather than an abusive lover, and then there is Lene's mournful sax in the outro...

I bought this on 7" back in 1981 - as far as I can remember I'd seen them in "New Sounds New Styles" magazine so I took a chance. As far as I'm aware they only released one other single and then they were gone.....

So frickin' good that Kylie, Stock and Waterman more or less nicked it and just wrote a new vocal melody and lyrics for this album track :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC-xbR0y8MY

I can't leave @philipnareike alone in North Korea so enjoy this song which is, from what I can gather, about a picture/fairy book given to the children of North Korea by "Father General" and the things in the book (probably something about potatoes and how wonderful he is and life is under his care).#NKKidsGotTalent
