Here are all of arjanhoornstra's jams.
by Throwing Muses
Just about a week before TIMJ closes forever. Time for an all time favourite. Great vocals, each in their own style, by Kristin and Tanya. From their debut-album (though this youtube version is from the 'fat skier' ep).

by Veruca Salt
For those who missed it, Veruca Salt returned this year with a new album. It was released through crowd funding and it has Louise and Nina back together. The album is great, better than any album after their debut possibly.

In the 90s, 4AD was my favourite label. After 2005 or so I began to lose interest in their releases. But now they have this singer, which suits the 80s/90s 4AD perfect. A bit Cocteau Twins, sure, why not? Looking forward to her ep later this month.

by Space Siren
Space Siren was a Dutch noiserock band, founded by Corno Zwetsloot. He was not just a musician (he played in Zoppo and Seesaw before) but also a producer and owner of a recording studio. He died in november 2014 of cancer. I've been lucky to have seen the band about 5 times in the past years. This is a new video of a song from their last album, also from 2014.

This band from Sweden I first heard a week ago, an older song which reminded me a bit of Gogo's and Altered Images. This year they had this new song which is a bit more spiked up, more Siouxsie. I like it.

by Queen Adreena
July 8th is my birthday. It also is the birthday of one of my favourite singers, Katie Jane Garside. In the 90s she sang in Daisy Chainsaw, in the 00s in Queen Adreena and (later) Ruby Throat. So for at least today she is my new jam with a song from QA's 2nd album.

by Elle Mary & The Bad Men
A great new singer-songwriter. I found out about her late last year and she is one of my most played this year, even with a limited amount of songs. This is the titletrack of her new EP (yay, 5 new songs at once).
