長城怨 Plight at the Great Wall

長城怨 Plight at the Great Wall

by 吳鷹音 Wu Ying-Yin

this number is all about a young woman's lonely spring time waiting for a lover that will not return, and how much she hates both clear skies and her feelings. but the central verse takes an interesting turn- she hates also the Great Wall for all the wars and the oppression it represents. also i just like the music. shooting for 150....

Ain't Gone N Give up on love

Ain't Gone N Give up on love

by Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan is probably one my favorite singer - songwriter and guitarists of any genre and its a pleasure to end my jams here with him performing "Aint Goin' To Give Up On Love" live on 21st September 1985. Stephen "Stevie" Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 – August 27, 1990) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. In spite of a short-lived mainstream career spanning seven years, he is widely considered one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of blues music, and one of the most important figures in the revival of blues in the 1980s. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Vaughan began playing guitar at the age of seven, inspired by his older brother Jimmie. In 1971 he dropped out of high school, and moved to Austin the following year, and the rest as they say is history. His story - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevie_Ray_Vaughan I am now jamming at http://www.godsjukebox.com/selections/username/Sid_Bonkers

Dirty Money

Dirty Money

by Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra

Mike's Music Interview Archive: Martin Perna of Antibalas. I just ate Thai food for lunch, which reminded me of this interview...which has this great quote: “If there's anything clear after 17 years of the band, it's that people like (the music), but it's like Thai food in the 1970s,” bandleader Martin Perna says. “It might be a generation or two before people have a vocabulary for it. Even now, it's mostly for intrepid listeners.” http://triblive.com/aande/music/7555183-74/antibalas-afrobeat-band#axzz3la2xxqD4

Expansion

Expansion

by Pat Metheny (w/Orchestrion)

Mike's Music Interview Archive: Eric Singer, LEMUR (League of Musical Urban Robots). Pat Metheny was the "artist-in-residence" at the Detroit Jazz Festival, which meant that he was there every time you turned around...which reminded me of a fun story that I did awhile back about the guy who built the musical robots for Metheny's wacky "Orchestrion" project (who lives in Pittsburgh)...Now, I'm not the biggest Metheny fan, but I respect the dude's defiant weirdness: "Who needs a band? All they do is ask for money and eat my snacks! I'm building my own band of robots, totally subservient to my every musical whim!" If the Orchestrion someday evolves into Skynet, blame this guy: http://triblive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/ae/music/s_684362.html#axzz3l9iddvz5

All My Love

by Led Zeppelin

As we wind down these final days a melancholy mood has set in my soul. These final jams will be songs that everyone has heard before, but are classics or have a strong emotional pull for me. Arthur McBride & The Recruiting Sergeant

Arthur McBride & The Recruiting Sergeant

by Andy Irvine & Paul Brady

Paul Brady's signature tune is the standout track on one of the great contemporary Irish folk albums. Although he's not actually on the track, this is the second version of Arthur McBride that Andy Irvine put his name to. But, where Planxty's version is a rowdy and boisterous rebel tune, Brady transforms the song into something more akin to a childhood memory, all beautiful and nostalgic.
