Here are all the jams that eoghancullen likes

Since I'll be otherwise occupied after today, this is my final jam. As we all Motor Away, heartfelt thanks to all you jammers who introduced me to so much amazing music I would have missed otherwise. I haven't picked a new service quite yet, but will keep an eye on the TIMJ Facebook group to see where people land. Happy trails!

Here it is, folks. #ThisIsMyFinalJam I thought it would only be right to have my eternal jam be the last one I post. They may be archiving this site, but like the song goes, "You can never quarantine the past." Thank you all, sincerely, for the music over the years. To everyone who's liked, listened, shared, and discovered along with me. I'm sad that This Is My Jam is coming to an end, but I'm choosing to embrace a new beginning at Let's Loop. Find me @BrightLights. - Gina

Mike's Music Interview Archive: Guto Pryce of Super Furry Animals. So it's Welsh week, I guess--? The long-lived psyche-prog-punk outfit (I think of them as the Flaming Lips of Wales) is always interesting, and this was a fun interview...way back in 2002...they put on a pretty ridiculously elaborate A/V show too: http://triblive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/ae/music/s_93200.html#axzz3mWWTuv00

Keep on saying I've posted my last jam. But I'm fairly certain I mean it this time.
Jammed: 19th Sep 2015
I'm gonna wind things up a few days early, because I just know that I'll forget to check back on the site on the final day if I try to post my final jam then. It's been a fun couple of years, and I'll see most of you on LetsLoop. I may give the other alternatives a try, too.

by Sonic Youth
Back in 2000 I was at Butlins in Minehead for the first All Tomorrows Parties Festival. It had been a great weekend and I was really looking forward to seeing one of my favourite bands Sonic Youth for the first time as they were headlining the Sunday night. What a disappointment they were. Thankfully I saw them a couple more times when they were excellent.

Carrying on with some swirly ethereal distortion here's one from an EP I bought in 1990! Big important life soundtrack EP this one. Bought with my new partner at the time, now my husband :) Can't be that long ago surely?

Now that the end is almost upon us, it's as good a time as any to go back to my beginning. From the album that possibly had the greatest impact on my future musical development. Sure EJSTANS isn't SY's best album, but it was my first and it completely changed the way I listen to music. There have been others that rewired my brain even further, but this one jumped me from almost 0 and I've forever grateful to it. And personal history aside, it's still a great record.

Played twice on the same radio station today. Was the album left out on the desk by the first DJ? Does it still actually work that way?

by The Mekons
From their 1989 album the Mekons Rock 'n' Roll. The record buying public turned away in droves and their record company ditched them after this. What do they know? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mekons

by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Mike's Music Interview Archive: Will Oldham (Bonnie "Prince" Billy). Though he has the reputation for being difficult, Oldham has been consistently delightful to talk to...he was driving when we talked, and just wanted some company, I guess--? We talked for way longer than expected about semi-legendary Pittsburgh record stores, venues, promoters, and weirdos...I remember being really unhappy with the way the story came out, though...I think maybe he played with a completely different lineup, and different songs than I wrote about... @AlteGeist was there--you remember anything like that? http://triblive.com/aande/music/3300331-74/oldham-bonnie-billy#axzz3kPOrPIMn
