Here are all of europabridge1's jams.
by Music by Pierre Adenot, Supervisor Varda Kakon, Abbey Road
Ran across this piece with Varda Kakon on @youtube after looking for music from 'On Her Way' with Catherine Deneuve. Couldn't find it, so settled for this lovely tune from Beauty & The Beast 2014, France.

Rejamming this because Viennese waltzes cheer me, when I am sad ... I love Erich Kleiber's style of orchestration too. Very nuanced and delicate!

by Kiri Te Kanawa
Dame Kiri! Listening to Richard Strauss, and comparing sopranos (Schwarzkopf vs. Baker vs Kiri te Kanawa) and decided that I love Dame Kiri's version of this German song best ... Translation: Tomorrow And tomorrow the sun will shine again, and on the path that I shall follow it will reunite us, the blessed ones, amidst this sun-breathing world. And to the shore, broad and blue with the waves, we shall go down quietly and slowly. Mute we shall look into each other's eyes, and upon us will descend the silence of happiness.

The Isles of Scilly, Cornwall ... Okay, full disclosure: I did not have a new jam this week, but saw this time-lapsed video on @twitter about The Isles of Scilly, which is where I'd like to live and retire and walk the beautiful beaches, and get AWAY from the insanity of America ... Thus, welcome to my DREAM! (I want to FEEL ALIVE ... in Scilly!)

From 'The Pearl' ... An album I once listened to quite a lot ~ used it to fall asleep by. Tired week, tired ears, tired sounds from the #PoxPopuli in America ... This sounds better.

Sticking with the 'Gone Girl' soundtrack for a few more days, as I admire this particular track. It contains all the creepy portent and danger of a relationship gone wrong.

by Trent Reznor
Listened to the entire soundtrack @NPR yesterday, and found it on @Soundcloud as well ... The score is as fully developed as the music Reznor composed for 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. Listen to the entire score to get the full picture; it's dark but compelling.

by Leo Kottke
Heard someone's acoustic jam here, and suddenly thought of Leo Kottke, who I haven't listened to since high school, when I was fiddling around on a Yamaha-350 myself ... after seeing him in concert. Kottke and Parkening were inspirations to me ~ back in ye old days of acoustic stylings. What an incredible musician and vocalist! I find this cover soul-shaking.

Jack White performs "The Same Boy You've Always Known" & "Entitlement" for La Blogotheque's Take Away Shows at Fontainebleau. This was filmed in Saint-Saturnin Chapel, Fontainebleau Castle, on June 30th, 2014. I found it via @WSJ on twitter ... I ADORE Jack's performance of 'Entitlement' here ... I turn to Mozart, and dare @thisismyjam to muck it up with disdain (pissed that my Ben Howard jam was missing a 'LOVE' button ...) One of my favorite interpreters of Mozart and R. Strauss, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa sings live from the Nobel Jubilee Concert - for the 200th anniversary of Mozart's death. With The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Sir Georg Solti / conductor, Stockholm.

In the mood for a bit of Clapton after hearing guitarman's Cream jam. Some people don't like Clapton. But I can't think of anyone I'd rather look at or listen to ... He's a great performer. Rollin' & Tumblin' into the weekend, a bit early ... But never early enough. From his 'Unplugged' session on MTV. Great form.

by The Beatles
45 years ago (8/8/69) ... Still jamming classics with The Beatles, one of the most trenchant commentators on American Life and life in general. Particularly like the lyrics on this Lennon & McCartney tune ... 'Out of college, money spent/ See no future, pay no rent/ All the money's gone, nowhere to go/ Penny-jobber got the sack/ Monday morning, turning back/ Yellow lorry slow, nowhere to go/ But oh, that magic feeling/ Nowhere to go/ Oh, that magic feeling/ Nowhere to go Nowhere to go/ Ah, ah, ah/ One sweet dream/ Pick up the bags and get in the limousine/ Soon we'll be away from here/ Step on the gas and wipe that tear away/ One sweet dream/ Came true today/ Came true today/ Came true today/ Yes it did/ One, two, three, four, five, six, seven All good children go to heaven/ One, two, three, four, five, six, seven All good children go to heaven/ One, two, three, four, five, six, seven All good children go to heaven'

Don't know how much more fantastic this jam can get, but perhaps that's just me, being a child of the Swinging 60's ... The amazing emotional genius of Burt Bacharach and hard but pure British sound of Cella Black, circa 1965, in the original recording at Abbey Studios. Continuing with #MarriageWeek ... reminding people what it's all about ... xo (Sorry ... Getting a restricted notice due to copyright; go to youtube, it's worth it.)

For #weddingweek: Dusty Springfield's 'The Look of Love' 1967... Seque-waying into 'Have no fear, Bond is here!' Peter Sellers as the madcap Bond? And Hitler, and Toulouse Lautrec ... And who is that voluptuous Bond Girl? Ursula Andress, of course. All marriages should be as entertaining and madcap. Bon Voyage, Happy Union!

by Daryl Hall & John Oates
Added with 'Hot Fun in the Summertime' to dance in the heat (I'm weeping with the sweat) ~ Hall & Oates: an acquired taste or classic act that just won't die? Recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I think they're the coolest White Soul Band ever to hit the American charts ... Here in ripped T-shirt and long blonde Elvis Hair, Daryl Hall is ridiculous and wonderful ...strutting his STUFF, and it ain't JUNK ... Wonderful backup guitar with that guy who played with David Bowie and fireworks too. Enjoy 1980.

by Paul McCartney & Wings
I guess everyone knows this song is Paul's comment on the fame of The Beatles (perhaps the greatest pop band ever), and I think it's one of his best independent efforts with Wings, along with 'Jet' which I love, for some reason ... namely wacky lyrics. Continuing with my nostalgic theme from Steely Dan 70-80's and picking up with WINGS. (Original release video)

by Steely Dan
Spent all morning listening to Steely Dan and being swept away by a simpler time when lyrics seemed true and those guitar solos were redolent of more than pyrotechnics ... something deep within our souls (or perhaps something passing for it). So then I was faced with which song, and decided 'Josie' was rebellious and sassy enough to start the weekend ... It's hard to imagine a band that had more beautifully crafted tunes and in such a short time span: mid 70's to 1980. I once fancied myself a kind of Josie too ... BTW, I always think of the poet Phillip Larkin when I listen to Steely Dan ... Great lyricists. (Check out 'My Old School'~ Midnight Special clip is pure 70's kitsch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj9Rs56u8YY )

This fabulous and rather over-the-top, gothic video (fan-directed) of Nirvana's tune came by way of @Clarks_Auctions on twitter ... I don't know, smells like Teen Spirit, and I had a birthday this month, which put me over the hill ... The face you had when you were born.

by Jerry Goldsmith
Feeling sort of stuck in Chinatown these days ... This score by Jerry Goldsmith is so apropos ... The film noir classic directed by Roman Polanski is probably one of the most perfectly made in this genre, and everyone in the film from Nicholson to Faye Dunaway to John Huston are at the top of their form ... First 3" is the film's ending. More of the soundtrack, if you'd like to hear Goldsmith's (Hitchcockian) themes, is available at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsQC4HPruDQ

Was listening to the Rock Hall of Fame online, and came across this jam. Wanted to play Joan Jett (love) but her vocals were so harsh, it hurt my ears ... so went for this. Don't know this vocalist but she reminds me a bit of Aimee Mann back in her Til'Tuesday years ... Pretty decent.

An old Rebel Yell recently resurrected ~ "Midnight Rider" featuring Vince Gill, Gregg Allman, and Zac Brown from "All My Friends ~ Celebrating The Songs And Voice of Gregg Allman" Blu-Ray/DVD/CD available 5/6/14 from Rounder Records ... Song from my youth. Fried my brain on this stuff. Still good.

Found this 1977 performance in Atlanta, which strangely I was present for, and decided since I've recently returned from the Pneumonia-Dark-Plague, I'd celebrate some old Ronstadt spirit ... What a glorious voice.

Hello all ... Been very ill for the past week, so haven't had a chance to think much about music ... But looking at Jimmy Fallon and Stevie Nicks this morning and their attempt to recreate the rock classic from Petty & Nicks, I thought it'd be nice to remember the original. And why sometimes copies are very DEPRESSING ... #XeroxShutdown Hurry for the originals. P.S. Stevie Nicks was a fox!

by Hans Zimmer
No doubt about who I want to compose the soundtrack (score) for 'Adventures in Paradise' ... Hans Zimmer, who has written the scores for Gladiator, Thelma & Louise, The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Inception, Sherlock Holmes, etc. would be able to capture all the different tonal qualities of my film ... Comic, romantic, revenge conspiracy, glamorous hijinks, as well as slapstick ... A genius.

#Adventures filmscore ~ From A Foggy Day in Londontown to London Calling, Polythene Pam, Sweet Dreams, Chain Gang ... and Country Fair these are some of the songs I hope to 'sample' or have playing in the B.G. during 'Adventures in Paradise' ... Country Fair is the kind of lyrical song that, for me, represents an escape to nature and all it implies ... In particular, I'd love to hear the flute and choral humming during Clive & Aurora's Isles of Scilly holiday escape ... the romantic part of my Romantic Comedy-Revenge Caper.

by The Pretenders
Vacillations about which version of 'Chain Gang' to post finally landed me back to this immaculate video from 1982. This Pretenders song appears in my Hackgate screenplay 'Adventures in Paradise' as a key female character Diane realizes she has been duped by 'A circumstance beyond our control, oh oh oh oh/ The phone, the tv and the news of the world/ Got in the house like a pigeon from hell, oh oh oh oh/ Threw sand in our eyes and descended like flies/ Put us back on the train/ Oh, back on the chain gang ... I went through several versions of this marvelous song before I decided on this very RAW live performance by Chrissie Hynde & The Pretenders in NYC. It's not her best vocals, but I love how she just tears it up. This song plays (in my Hackgate screenplay of 'Adventures in Paradise') in the B.G. as a key female character realizes she has been duped by ... 'A circumstance beyond our control/ oh oh oh oh/ The phone, the tv and the news of the world/ Got in the house like a pigeon from hell/ oh oh oh oh/ Threw sand in our eyes and descended like flies/ Put us back on the train/ Oh, back on the chain gang ... Returning to what I hope will be a great film-score for my London-based Hackgate film 'Adventures in Paradise' ... 'Sweet Dreams' by The Eurythmics makes an appearance by way of a cell phone ring, which comments on the action. This Grammy performance by Annie Lennox is over-the-top and wonderfully camp ...Wayne Newton with Dave Stewart looking like 'White Prince'... Would I lie to you?! Bonus feature at the end: a few seconds of the wonderful John Denver, fallen American Pie.

by Gene Pitney
This is such a sleazy arrangement but I love it, and I've always loved Gene Pitney's slightly hysterical tone and range ... If I can, I might try to fit this song into the B.G. of a scene in my 'Adventures in Paradise' screenplay ... 'How can anything survive/ When these little minds tear you in two/ What a town without pity can do/ How can we keep love alive/ How can anything survive/ When these little minds tear you in two/ What a town without pity can do/ No, it isn't very pretty what a town without pity can do'

by The Clash
'London Calling' by The Clash (1979) I'd love playing in the B.G. of a stalking scene featuring my hero (Clive Reade) of my Hackgate screenplay 'Adventures in Paradise' ... (played by ... I don't know). For the stalker, I'm hoping to get Jack Black. 'The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in/ Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin/ A nuclear error, but I have no fear/ 'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river/ Now get this London calling, yes, I was there, too/ An' you know what they said? Well, some of it was true! London calling at the top of the dial/ After all this, won't you give me a smile?

From their new album 'If You Wait' ... just tweeted by London Grammar, 'Hey Now'. I couldn't believe how perfectly 'Polythene Pam' fits a scene in my screenplay for 'Adventures in Paradise' which explores the Hackgate scandal in London, where seductions and betrayals take place simultaneously . (Read more at http://about.me/elandurham) 'Well you should see Polythene Pam/ She's so good-looking but she looks like a man/ Well you should see her in drag, dressed in her polythene bag/ Yes you should see Polythene Pam/ Yeah, yeah, yeah/ Get a dose of her in jackboots and kilt/ She's killer-diller when she's dressed to the hilt/ She's the kind of a girl that makes the "News of the World"/ Yes you could say she was attractively built/ Yeah, yeah, yeah' Beatles - Polythene Pam Lyrics | MetroLyrics

by Michael Buble (Cover of George & Ira Gershwin song)
'A Foggy Day in London Town' sung by Michael Buble is reprised several times during my screenplay for 'Adventures' ... And because I've been writing and editing a lot lately, I thought some of you might be interested in knowing more about the kind of music I'm going to feature in 'Adventures in Paradise' a movie to be shot in London, and hopefully starring actors like Colin Firth, Carey Mulligan, Emily Blunt, Jamie Dorman, Michael Caine, Bill Nighy, Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson, Emma Stone, Jamie Dorman among others ... Hope you enjoy all these jams coming up from The Eurythmics, The Pretenders, The Clash, Van Morrison, The Beatles, Cole Porter, and Gershwin ... from my soon-to-be-produced Romantic Comedy Revenge Caper ... Hit it, Michael Buble! #Swing

A hugely influential band from the 70's-80's, Weather Report was a favorite of mine with their fusion tunes 'A Remark You Made' and 'Elegant People' though most people know them by 'Birdland'. Jaco Pastorius played with just about everyone, and Portishead paid them a tribute in 'Stranger' by sampling the AMAZING opening from 'Elegant People' ... For those of you, who might not have heard the Weather Report.

Came across this song-video introduced as one of the Top Songs of 2013 from Scotland via @Martin1Williams on Twitter. I like the video a lot, which seems to combine images of Edie Sedgwick, retro-dreamscapes of boyhood and the animal kingdom, and violence ... with a song about lost love. A potent combination. Always now.

Didn't I promise more Richard Strauss when I posted the second Waltz from Der Rosenkavalier ? Here it is ... German Lieder, sung at the height of her powers, by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. For film buffs, this song was also used to score 'The Year of Living Dangerously' directed by Peter Weir ... Albert Finney starred in a musical version of Scrooge in 1970, which if you haven't seen is amusing and entertaining on many levels.
