Thanks to everyone for turning me on to so much great music over the last couple of years and for your kind and often witty comments too. It's been a blast :) Keep the faith brothers and sisters. Until we meet again.x

I must have watched this video nearly a dozen times since Friday. A new artist for me. Am completely bowled over by the lyrics/music and the accompanying video. Think she has such an enchanting voice :)

Not long to go now:) A few old favourites to follow from me before we say farewell to each other on TIMJ. Wanted to jam the video for this here :-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-JtAcpKtYQ. Loved his work with Brian Eno. This one of the standout tracks from his "Arcadie" album.

I felt I had to post this wonderful video and I'll admit I welled up the first time I watched it. Mike Garry's words paint a moving picture of Tony's life and it's touching to see some of his close friends and people who respected/admired him lip-synching the words. I'm sure New Order fans will almost instantly recognise the track that the music is based on :) Love the guy and miss him to this day :)

Say it ain't so... I guess all good things must eventually come to an end, but I am going to miss being turned on to wonderful new and old music alike from you my fellow jammers, and sharing my love of great music with you all on a regular basis. Hope I meet some of you again on a similar site elsewhere. I'll keep on jamming to the end....x

by Robbie Robertson
Wanted to jam the video which you can find here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KP9PNSUME4. It's directed by his buddy Martin Scorsese and features Maria Mckee from Lone Justice. I think Robbie Robertson has the coolest voice and is a great storyteller. Been looking through my racks for the album tonight when it dawned on me I may have sold it in a moment of madness many years ago !

by Beach House
Been listening to Beach House's "Teen Dream" album tonight. Wonderful timeless record. First saw them at Islington Mill in Salford, where I'm going together with my some of my lovely friends on here, you know who you are :) to see another band, but coincidentally, the four of us are going to see Beach House later this year aswell :)

Digging the slighty woozy, string bending guitar on this track and the song in general, from his recent mini-lp "Another One".

Well, have made it to 52 today, still fairly young at heart but don't wear my dancing shoes as much as i used to! Getting ready for barbers, then to the pub with my nearest and dearest big bro' and his lovely missus. Here's a bright and optimistic new number I heard today.Cheers! :)

Right, time for a curveball methinks, which might go down like a lead balloon, but what the hell !:)This was featured in a BBC two part scottish drama concluding last week called"Stonemouth" based on an Iain Banks novel, which I really enjoyed, that courtesy of Soundhound I finally tracked down who recorded it..Oh it's just good to hear something strikingly original for me, even if it's 18 months old :)

by The Durutti Column
This track was written by Vini Reilly for his friend, manager and Factory label boss Anthony H Wilson. I'm sharing this because it's a beautiful piece of music and because Tony was an such an important figure, equally loved and loathed in Manchester, who always championed this city on a local and national level, and I miss him dearly to this day.

by BERNARD + EDITH
Newish Manchester duo recently signed to Bella Union. Recent music press tagline for the review of their new album said "Bernard and Edith take the Cocteau Twins to a Turkish Market" which lured me in straightaway! :)
Jammed: 12th May 2015
by Serge Gainsbourg and Jean-Claude Vannier
This track from the peerless Mr Gainsbourg and his long time arranger blew me away the first time I heard it. It's from the soundtrack to an obscure late '60s french film. Terrific funky drumming and harpsichord, with a bizarre banjo interlude mid song, which may or may not convince @melissapulo of said intrument's merits after our discussion at the Calexico gig the other night ! :)

by Merry Clayton
It's been a long time coming, but finally I've made it to my 100th jam! Okay, don't all clap at once, I know some of you guys,no names @melissapulo, are well into your hundreds. What can I say ? I've always been late to the party. Anyway, enough of my yakkin', here's Merry Clayton's storming cover of the Stones classic she originally duetted with Mr Jagger on, accompanied by suitably powerful images.
Jammed: 28th Apr 2015
My mate and |I were most impressed with Gwenno's set supporting Stealing Sheep last Friday. One woman and a keyboard with a film backdrop behind her. Musically I was hearing echoes of early St Etienne, Broadcast and Jane Weaver amongst others. Lovely stuff.

Jammed: 27th Mar 2015
Couldn't make my mind up which track to jam from the wonderful Stereolab's "Margerine Eclipse" double album, but went for the opener which has a tremendous groove and always gives me a euphoric rush, especially from 2.41 onwards :)

Can't tell you anything about this lady, but heard this last night and was struck by the interplay between her vocal and the marvelous percussion.

Heard this single from her much hyped album for the first time today, and did feel a definate tingle all over, which is quite rare for me these days! :) The album is released on Matthew E White's Spacebomb label and features the label's house band on backing, who are superb.
