Another great Bacharach-David song and a fantastic performance that rivals Dusty's....

Yes, I know I've said it before, but I love the mid-80s summertime feel of this track. I'm playing it this evening as the sun is just starting to set :-)

Rollerskating whilst holding a guitar! (I've never seen this video before.) Love this track. To me, things such as the heavy-handed reverb on the backing vocals really give it a 'summertime in the city' feel. This is from way in 1980!

I didn't actually get to see Roddy Frame until last year, when I met up with my new bestie for the gig at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. It was a brilliant evening - and we didn't stop laughing ( not at Roddy - he's more than lovely). Anyways - I'm off to see him again at the end of the year - and that makes me happy : D - This beauty is a B side of the wonderful 'Working In A Goldmine' - loving the crackly vinyl . #DylanCovers
by Lloyd Cole
I've always loved this track - and I love Lloyd Cole - great to mix the two then. #DylanCovers

Awesome energy overcomes the poor sound quality.
Get Give it up or turn it loose (3/3) - Live Palasport, Bologna Italy April 1971 at Amazon
by Monica Queen/ James Grant
From James Grant's album"I Shot The Albatros" (poems put to his music). I don't think I've quite promoted it enough. This is a poem by Helen Adam. Anyways love this. Is it still a #sundaysoother to talk about feeding your lover's bones to a dogheaded man? Surely a tin of Chum isn't that expensive .

Elvis Costello celebrated a BIG birthday recently. He wrote this one and I think it is a classic.
by The Isley Brothers
As sampled in KMD's Who Me?,brilliant funk track from the greatest of all the groups made up of brothers.Rolling piano, great horn stabs and killer lead vocal.
by Affinity
One of my favourite Vertigo tracks.Jazzy, funky and with a great vocal from Linda Hoyle.
by JAZZATEERS
Jazzateers' version of Donna Summer's 'Wasted', written by Giorgio Moroder & Pete Bellote. This version produced by Edwyn Collins, and scheduled as Postcard Records' last 7" (81-14). Jazzateers' archives from the period ('Don't Let Your Son Grow Up To Be A Cowboy') beautifully collated by Cherry Red and available on CD / DD. Dig it.

Achingly beautiful L&M song - B side of Up Escalator (or Four Songs From Love And Money)- oh that voice is to die for. . . cos I'm under your spell - angel in the rain. I'd say I'd never be bad again - but you know I always will. . .

From 1984, this is one of my favourite Bobby Womack tracks, who sadly passed away in June this year.

Just love those 60s lyrics. Deserves to ranked up there with Whiter Shade of Pale in my view.

by Dave Edmunds
Quite frankly, one of the greatest pop singles of 1979, or any other year for that matter.
by David Bowie
I bought Diamond Dogs on its release whilst on holiday in Largs, had to wait until I got home to play it. DD still blows my mind.
Wait! There's more…
