Here are all of gregfasolino's jams.
by Mark Kozelek & Desertshore
I love how he talks about "Papillon," a movie (and book) I was equally obsessed with when I was 8 years old, and "Kung Fu" and "Baretta." Looking forward to Town Hall in October.

by Clams Casino
Somehow I'd never heard this ultra-dreamy Clams Casino mix until now but I've been obsessed with it all week and now my son is too. Not sure if "cloud rap" is a real genre, but gotta love the Jean Rollin footage in the clip.

Another newish dark dream pop band I am absolutely over the moon about. If you love Be Forest, Tamaryn, Beach House, No Joy, Mazzy Star, Broadcast, etc. you will probably love them as much as I do. Thanks to my old buddy Christopher for the tip.

I'm halfway through listening to this new album while at work and it's really good. I like it SO much more than the last one... Gotta give a lot of credit to soundtrack guy Tyler Bates who makes a big difference....his songwriting and guitar are really interesting.

by Dave Gardner
Here's a ghoulish gem for Halloween! This is one of my very favorites of the hundreds of weird horror-themed one-off singles from the '50s and '60s in my collection. Gardner's deadpan vocals and feverish lyrics somehow make this idiosyncratic track really creepy to me.

by Ensemble de Organographia
Oldest known piece of music, from the wonderful Ensemble de Organographia album "Music of the Ancient Sumerians, Egyptians & Greeks." It was notated approximately 4,000 years ago as a hymn to the titular fifth ruler of the first dynasty of the Sumerian city-state of Isin.

Such lovely guitar. I have nothing much to say about the whole SKM/War on Drugs brouhaha other that wondering if it possibly could have been a PR stunt. If so, it kinda worked as until I came across the story, I had never heard of War on Drugs, and had never listened to SKM either (or anything Kozelek had done in about 20 years). I was intrigued enough to check out both bands this week and became a fan of both. Weird...

by R. Carlos Nakai
Nakai has been one of my go-to chill-out musics for the last 25 years...I never tire of the purity and elemental birdsong-like purity of his flute. I am particularly fond of this album he did in collaboration with some Japanese shakuhachi, shamizen and koto musicians.
