"Summer suicided and the eternall Fall began", the quote I read somewhere. As TIMJ hibernates forever in a timely September fashion, I thought it's a perfect occasion to say farewell with my appropriately titled old mix, which could have been easily my best - at least according to the number of Soundcloud listens. Thank you everyone for the company, jams, discoveries, comments - and see you some other place, some other time! :-) If you liked my jams - you're kindly welcome to join my Facebook group The Cup of Silence www.fb.com/groups/cup.of.silence, and let's keep sharing great unpopular music without genre and style borders.

Back to Tool—one of my favorite tracks of theirs ever (and a cover, too, so twice as much of awesomeness!). Rober Fripp of King Crimson said in 2003 an interview with Barry Cleveland: ‘I happen to be a Tool fan. The members of Tool have been generous enough to suggest that Crimson has been an influence on them. Adam Jones asked me if I could detect it in their music, and I said I couldn’t. I can detect more Tool influence in King Crimson, than I can hear King Crimson in Tool.’ Not that they actually need it, but does personal endorsement get cooler than this? Kinda equivalent of god saying, personally (or, more likely, miraculously making it appear carved in stone, or something): ‘Man, they’re awesome, I like them.’

"Happy People" has been one of my favourite albums of the year so far, just 10 straight tracks of Britpop-influenced goodness, so you can probably tell that I am rather excited at getting to see these guys next month at Nottingham Rock City.

NEW.COM is Marius Neukom, a DJ/promoter based in Zurich, whose knowledge of dubwise bass music I cannot compare to anyone else I know. Since 2003, he'se been running Comfortnoise Podcast, spinning himself (vinyl only) and inviting guest DJs and artists. The archives of the series is overwhelming, so is the quality, depth and variety of his selections. This is one of the latest mixes, focusing on foundation dub & step - but check www.comfortnoise.com for countless others...

Mike's Music Interview Archive: Mike Hadreas, Perfume Genius. I've always loved music that juxtaposes really pretty music with really ugly, bleak, even horrific lyrics, and very few do that as well as Perfume Genius. Some people are engulfed by the shit that life dumps upon them; others come out smelling like, well, perfume...if there's an explanation why, I'd love to know it... http://triblive.com/aande/music/7965715-74/hadreas-song-genius#axzz3jq4eg8Cl
