Delighted to have picked this up for peanuts in a charity shop. Interesting version, with a "Tom Thumb's Blues" drumbeat and no sign of that brilliant bassline yet. Ultimately shows how far Dylan's greatest song had to go to become just that. #bootleg

It's all been a bit heavy going round here recently. Last lengthy jam for a while, definitely. Here's a slow burning and quietly unsettling score to some of Rimbaud's most incendiary and provocative prose (and that's saying something).

by John Cale
Though John Cale's pre-Velvet Underground drone adventures are pretty well documented, I hadn't known about these recordings until recently. The title track is 40 minutes long, so I'll spread it out over my next few jams. Enjoy!

Truthfully, I was trying to jam the B-Side, called "Don't Ask Me". However, I couldn't find it and it was just too easy to succumb to this blissful disgust. Happy weekending folks!

Though her "ordinary day" is a little raunchy for the (not so) innocent folk of TIMJ, it may be of interest to you to check out Annie Clarke's amazing method of composition, in that she can actually replicate all the crazy synth stuff on guitar: http://youtu.be/NE7R4nKBK8Y

Some computer mastery brings together two unstoppable forces: Miles and Kermit the Frog.

by The Pizza Underground
Macaulay Culkin (of Home Alone fame) has formed a band. They cover Velvets songs, changing the lyrics to the theme of pizza. Tracks include "I'm Waiting for the Delivery Man", "Beginning to Eat the Slice" and "Take a Bite of the Wild Slice". There's a kazoo solo on the latter, by the way.
Jammed: 10th Dec 2013
by Buddy Holly
The B-side to "That'll Be The Day", this is a far cry from that rocking number, but it's tender and lovely and beautiful and it's BUDDY HOLLY so it's pretty much impossible not to like.

by Nick Drake
It's so amazing that somebody could find themselves in an emotional state necessary to dream up a song like this and yet have it so clear, almost objective and totally without self-pity. What a genius <3

by Robert Johnson
A criminally underrated Robert Johnson track. Utilising the same slide riff as "Travelling Riverside Blues" but at breakneck speed, it's also apocalyptic heartbreak done with all the conviction you'd expect from Robert. #Master

by Cannonball Adderley
One of the best of my recent purchases, the fantastic solo effort of Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, who played my favourite solo on Kind of Blue ("Flamenco Sketches"). He's in equally beautiful form here.
Jammed: 21st Nov 2013
by Miles Davis
The Miles Davis themed deliberations of @adrian4acn have led me to again venture into the murky depths of one of the great man's most inpenetrable efforts. At least on par with Kind of Blue in the eyes of this jammer who ought not to be trusted where possible.
