Here are all of mjgBZ32's jams.
Very likely this will be my album of the year. Also, I have signed up for that Letsloop thing - mjgBZ32. No idea what you do on it but feel free to follow me if you're also on there!

My favourite metal album of all time is Leviathan, and I would argue it's the best ever too! Absolutely savage with incredibly skilled musicianship (especially drums). And it's over 10 years old - that makes it a genuine classic right?

by The Rolling Stones
Finally got in to the Rolling Stones the other day after listening to a few of their albums. Gimme Shelter has always been one of my favourite songs though...

Went to see The Fall the other day, despite not being an expert. Managed to touch Mark E. Smith. And he didn't punch me or anything. Anyway, they inspired me to listen to their back catalogue cos they're a seriously good musical unit. And judging by their older stuff, the other 300,000 members they've had were as well

Never heard an album as honest as Benji. I feel I have wasted the last year of my life having taken til now to listen to it. Love every song, this one got me first though. It's a complicated place this planet we're on

Hadn't listened to QOTSA in ages before today, there was a time when I listened to nothing but. Still as great as I left them. Actually, more so. Also nice one to whoever made this video it's pretty cool

by Bloc Party
I remember buying this album when I was about 15, because I wanted to expand my musical taste. 10 years on and I'm pretty sure I just listened to it through for the first time, I never got into it when I was younger. Perhaps my ears hadn't developed enough. I've always liked the fast paced songs though, especially this one! People chat about 'rhythm sections' but this one is actually worth it
Jammed: 13th May 2015
In Utero can't be beaten for true 'alternative' rock. Every time I listen to it I wish Grohl would throw the guitars in the bin, and revert back to thunderous drumming instead of boring us all with each monotonous Foo release. He is unbelievable for both Nirvana and on Songs For The Deaf. Also, I hope some of my scientific colleagues can perfect some kind of cloning technique. Bring Kurt back!
Jammed: 10th May 2015
by Tame Impala
I'm not a gambling man, but if I was - I'd put an exorbitant sum of money on Tame Impala winning my own personal AOTY. This song kind of reminds me of another Australian band Movement, but less moody
Jammed: 12th Apr 2015
A good week already as I'm seeing SK tonight and also my home town was voted 'most desirable postcode in the UK'! Not that I did anything to help. Or that it's actually true

by The Horrors
I'm a big fan of Skying and this is probably the best song from it. Any British music that isn't a smouldering acoustic turd gets me interested, but these guys are particularly good
Jammed: 14th Mar 2015
Wanted the studio version but apparently that's impossible...this has been my favourite song the last couple of weeks yeah yeah, yeah, yeahhh. Also the moon landings did happen, but I'm glad of the conspiracy theories otherwise this couldn't have been written!

If you're like me, and I am, every now & then you'll just want to listen to the aural equivalent of Triple H smashing you in the face with a sledgehammer. Or playing football against Diego Costa. Thanks to The Quietus' COLUMNUS METALLICUS (maybe read that in a Vincent Price voice?) I have found the band for cochlear demolition. A little look on wiki tells me Xibalba is Mayan for 'place of fear', but if you listen to this you probably worked that out already
Jammed: 30th Jan 2015
I saw a great quote from a member of Grizzly Bear the other week. He said people won't pay for music which you own forever, but don't hesitate to get a large popcorn or whatever for $9. With that in mind, I went and bought Polvo's last album (I had put it off for ages) and proved him correct. A fantastic album, which could possibly be my fave of 2013 - if I can find a modified Delorean somewhere. Now I just need to save up for some popcorn
Jammed: 17th Jan 2015
Can't stop listening to SK's new album, difficult to pick a track from it as they're all so good. No more albums need to get released this year, AOTY is sorted already. Except for Tame Impala, METZ, Chromatics & Deafheaven. And new guys like that Shamir. Does Black Messiah still count? Ok keep releasing stuff then

I don't listen to much ambient music, but in the words of Alan Partridge, this is "Lovely Stuff". Thank you to Pitchfork's 'overlooked records of 2014' and Resident Advisor for the joint recommendation

You might think he's a complete knob - you'd probably be right, I do too. But he is an amazing artist...I hadn't listened to all of MBDTF til today, more fool me. Also, humourous skit from Chris Rock. Apologies for the censored artwork as well, come on YouTube!

Winner of 'best track of 2014 I only properly listened to until after all the end of year lists came out even though we're still in 2014' award. Why can't they wait til January I don't understand, especially seeing as Beyoncé and Black Messiah the last 2 years have had critics absolutely creaming themselves. Anyway this is a great tune, probably their most fun since Wolf Like Me

Hadn't listened to this song in years before this week, a good slice of pop punk. Also a very relevant video for current times - bit unrealistic though as the guy the police are beating up is white

Absolutely sick of shitty Xmas music already, so thanks RTJ. They also won my own albums of the year competition for this year, although this track is from their debut. Here's all my end of year picks in case anyone is interested http://readerspoll.pitchfork.com/poll/5d12db2fd5d144a6b3cf6c9bda99fd/

by Cloud Nothings
Cloud Nothings are modern heroes for me, bringing classic post-hardcore/emo into the 21st century (also METZ release their 2nd album next year, minus the emo!). Some serious drumming on this track, brilliantly described by NME in an otherwise shitty review as 'the most furious game of whack-a-mole in history'. From my no. 3 album of the year

by Miles Davis
Miles is a cool dude, case in point - the funky groove on this jam (and the rest of the album). I've only just started listening to his music, so don't know much about him, except he took a lot of drugs and was ok at the trumpet or something. I'm not sure how much better drugs - or anything else, can make his music sound. I'm not complaining how he made it though, because it rules! I was going to choose Hookworms, but Miles is too good, they're next week
Jammed: 22nd Nov 2014
by Four Tet
Unfolding this was a good idea. People always go on about how rock music is dead in our country (it's obviously not seeing as Hookworms are English!), but as long as we have guys like Four Tet we don't need to give a shit anyway

I'm a sucker for El-P's booming bass-y production. When you throw in the fact pretty much every line both of them ever spit is a work of genius, Run The Jewels are my kind of thing! The day this was released online, my laptop decided that it wouldn't turn on any more, so I've had to wait 2 weeks to give it a proper listen. Dunno how I managed to wait ! AOTY contender for me
Jammed: 11th Nov 2014
Took me a long while to really get into Yankee Hotel Foxtrot but I'm glad I did, because now I can't stop listening to it. 11 fantastic songs, here's one of them!
Jammed: 6th Nov 2014
Sleater-Kinney are back! And so all terrible, boring acoustic music made by white boys and arse jiggling obsessed pop music will be banished from the Earth. Ok, that second part's not true - but it's how it happened in my head

One of the most distinctive producers in the world with a superstar rapper, what's not to like?
Jammed: 16th Oct 2014
Pretty disappointed with the Mercury Prize nominations (FKA Twigs has to win!) but Canada do their prize equivalent right. Fucked Up & GY!BE have won before and they let METZ fuck the place up at the awards ceremony! We'd never have any music like this nominated in Britain, sadly. If you haven't heard their debut album yet please give yourself 27 minutes and do so, one of my favourite records of the last few years
