In 1997, I went to Barry Gibb's house in Beaconsfield to interview the Bee Gees for Time Out magazine. At the end, I asked them to sing an outgoing message for my answerphone. I bought this single by Austin TX's Zeitgeist in 1987 and couldn't understand for the life of me why people were no longer allowed to make records with acoustic guitars that sounded like this. Three years later, when I moved to Lampeter, I met and befriended Andy Lewis (of Blow-Up/Pimlico/Paul Weller/Andy Lewis fame) – to this day the only other person I know who heard, loved and bought this record when it came out.

A few years ago, my friend Marc, who used to be in Octopus, wrote and recorded this Christmas song. He never released it, but all my family love it. I hope you like it too.
